Tyler Barham’s Twitter Chat Transcript

If you missed our chat with Tyler Barham last week, I made sure to record all the questions from not only myself but some fans of Tyler’s. Below are the questions that Tyler was kind to answer for us. 

  • Q: since it is ‪#tbt what is one thing you will always remember from being on the next gac star? (Fan Question)
  • A: The whole thing was amazing! But I was only 18 so even getting my own suite hotel room was pretty darn awesome haha
  • Q: How long have you been writing your own music? What’s your favorite song you’ve written so far?
  • A: I started singing when I was 9, learned guitar at 18 & then started writing 🙂 17 & Young is my favorite!
  • Q: More Than A Cotton Dress is addressing “Bro Country”, why did you decide to address it in a song?
  • A: There’s a lot of bro country songs that I like. They aren’t bad songs. There’s just other stuff that can be written about 🙂
  • Q: Over the years, what experiences have you encountered that has made you a better artist?
  • A: I’ve learned so much from this crazy business that’s made me a better artist. Main thing is that it’s all about the fans 🙂
  • Q: If you could perform on stage with any artist, who would it be and why? What song would you perform?
  • A: That’s a tough one but I’d have to say Garth Brooks. I’ve always looked up to him growing up. Not sure what song though! Lol
  • Q: What’s your favorite cover you’ve recorded?
  • A: I’d have to say Prayin’ For Daylight by rascal flatts when I worked at Hot Stuff Pizza because it was pretty funny haha
  • Q: If you could change one thing about you musically what would it be and why?
  • A: Musically, I’ve been so blessed. More than I deserve. I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m just thankful & always want to improve 🙂
  • Q: what is one thing that you could improve on in the country music industry? (Fan Question)
  • A: The main thing I feel like I could improve on is playing guitar. But there’s always something to improve on 🙂 always
  • Q: growing up, who was your biggest inspiration? (Fan Question)
  • A: I had a lot of inspirations! So many artists from 90’s country. Garth Brooks, George strait, Clint black, etc
  • Q: What’s your favorite place in Nashville to hangout?
  • A: There’s a lot of cool places to hang out in Nashville! ‪@listeningroom is one of my favorites. I used to work there 🙂
  • Q: what break do you need most right now for your career
  • A: Honestly, I’m not sure. I think things are going really well right now! I’m living my dream already & am thankful!
  • Q: What’s your most favorite place in Nashville that you have played to date? (Fan Question)
  • A: If I end up playing the Opry that will hands down be my favorite place! But I do love playing at ‪@PuckettsGrocery!
  • Q: What’s your favorite song on the radio right now?
  • A: I have so many favorite songs out right now! Haha I’d either have to say “I don’t dance” by Lee Brice or “Yah” by Joe Nichols
  • Q: if you couldn’t be a country artist, what career would you be interested in? (Fan Question)
  • A: I’m not really sure. I just have the mindset that music is it & what I’m meant to do. It has to be 🙂
  • Q: Do you have any projects coming up that we should be super excited about?
  • A: I’m doing quite a few shows this Summer & also doing some writing so hopefully I’ll have a new EP towards the end of the year.
  • Q: What 5 country artists do you look up to and get inspiration from? (Fan Question)
  • A: Garth Brooks, George Strait, Clint Black, Tracy Lawrence, John Michael Montgomery but the list goes on & on 🙂
  • Q: Will you ever play shows here in South Carolina?
  • A: I sure hope so! If you can find a place for me to play, maybe ‪@JohnnyRingtone & I can play a show there on our way to NC
  • Q: If you could be reincarnated as a musician, who would you want to be reincarnated as?
  • A: Honestly, there are 3 people. Keith Urban, John Mayer, or Charlie Worsham. I saw ‪@charlieworsham last week & he was killer!
  • Q: You have distinct style, with one word describe yourself as a musician.
  • A: I’d have to say that I’m genuine. I always want to try & stay true to myself and stay me. I am who I am 🙂
  • Q: What’s the most memorable concert you’ve been to?
  • A: There’s too many to count because they all have their differences & unique moments. I love all concerts though 🙂
  • Q: What’s the craziest fan experience you’ve had this year so far?
  • A: I’ve had fans drive like 5+ hours to see my show which was only an hour and a half. That is crazy but the coolest feeling 🙂
  • Q: Do you have a favorite TV show?
  • A: I really like to watch Shark Tank & then on the comedy side I like American Dad & Family Guy lol
  • Q: Where do you see yourself in the next 5-10 years?
  • A: I see myself having a career doing what I love to do & touching people’s lives with my music 🙂
  • Q: What advice would you give to aspiring artists?
  • A: Just to chase your dreams! No matter what. Do what you love & don’t look back. It’s your life so don’t waste it 🙂
  • Q: Is there anything you’d like to add?
  • A: Thank you all for participating in this & asking questions! Like I said, it’s ALL about the fans 🙂 so thank you. I had fun!
